Find simple procedural FAQ's for help on accessing BIOS, Boot options and other special items of interest
- How do you access the BIOS?
- From a complete shutdown tap the F2 key on startup
- How do you access the Boot Menu??
- From a complete shutdown tap the F12 key on startup
- Why can't I boot off my Test and Diagnostics USB Tool?
- If you are sure your USB is bootable then ensure that secure boot is turned off in BIOS, which can be found under the security tab. (From BIOS select Security --> Secure Boot --> Disable). If USB still cannot be accessed, please verify that the files on your USB Tool are in the root of the USB, the USB is formatted into FAT32, and that you have the correct T&D File that matches what is posted to the Tech Pack.
- The laptop turns on, the fans are spinning, but there is no Display.
- Check if Display issue, connect an external monitor via HDMI. Check if Memory Issue, replace RAM memory sticks if available.
- The keyboard keys are mismatched to the output. ( Ex. Pressed the DEL key and got a "=")
- Check to see if DMI information was entered correctly, can verify configuration settings through Tech Pack. Perform the "Fingerprint or Change PCB" step in T&D Tool. .
- The Wireless function on the laptop is missing after motherboard repair.
- Check connections on LAN PCB with the White and Black Antennas. Perform the "Fingerprint or Change PCB" step in T&D Tool. .
