The Toshiba DVD Multi Drive supports writing to DVD-RAM media, as well as to other types of writeable media, including CD-R and CD-RW. To enable writing to  DVD-RAM media, it's necessary to disable writing to CD-R and other media. This selection can be easily reversed, as necessary. Unless you specifically need to write to DVD-RAM media, leave the checkbox described below checked.

Follow these steps to enable either writing to CD-R and other media, or writing to DVD-RAM media:

1. Click the Windows Start button, then click My Computer .

2. Under the "Devices with removable storage" section, right-click DVD-RAM Drive .

3. Click Properties from the context menu that pops up nearby.

4. Click the Recording tab.

To enable writing to CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD media other than DVD-RAM, check the box labeled "Enable CD recording on this drive".

To enable writing to DVD-RAM media (only), uncheck this same box.

5. Click the OK button.

Repeat these steps at any time to re-enable writing to the other type of media.

note: The "Write these files to CD" item on the context menu mentioned above disappears when "Enable CD recording on this drive" is deselected.
