A limited number of Best Buy computers configured with WiMAX were shipped with the incorrect version of the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software.

The correct version of Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software is version 2.3b. This version provides important improvements for WiMAX activation, and load balancing. Without the correct version of WiMAX software, activation may not work correctly.

If the WiMAX Software version on your computer is less than 2.3b (ex: 2.1.x, 2.2.x, 2.3.0), please update the WiMAX software. If the version is 2.3b, your WiMAX Software does not need to be updated.

To determine the version of WiMAX software on your computer:

1. From the Start Menu
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Intel PROSet Wireless
4. Click WiMAX Connection Utility
5. Click Help
6. Click About...

Download and install Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software version 2.3b.

1. Download from the Support Website.
2. Download using Toshiba Service Station on your computer.

Updates for the affected computers were published via Toshiba Service Station.

1. Launch Toshiba Service Station
   1. From the Start Menu
   2. Click All Programs
   3. Click Toshiba
   4. Click Utilities
   5. Click Service Station
      
2. Click Check for Updates
   
3. Click Software Updates
   
4. Select the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software update.
   
5. Read the instructions thoroughly before installing. It may be necessary to uninstall the existing WiMAX software before updating.
