Versions of the Toshiba HD DVD Player software earlier than version 4.20.16 may not play HD DVD titles released on or after Sept 7, 2007. The Player's window may remain blank, and the Player may close. 

For the computers listed above, there are two methods for adding support for playing HD DVD titles released on or after Sept 7, 2007:

• A Data Update is available for the earlier versions of the Toshiba HD DVD Players, which were pre-installed on the computer models listed above. The Data Update is a relatively small download (341KB) and is relatively quick to apply. Click the following link to download, install, and apply the Data Update.
  
  
• Upgrade the Toshiba HD DVD Player to version 4.20.16 (or newer).
  Upgrading the Toshiba HD DVD Player requires downloading a relatively large (88MB) file, and may require upgrading other software components, and takes more time than applying the Data Update, but Toshiba recommends upgrading the  Player because it offers some improvements beyond support for newer HD DVD titles.
