"Error loading CM106.cpl" after installing dynadock audio driver from dynadock Software Installation CD, version 2.1

Issue


After installing the audio driver for the Toshiba dynadockUSB Docking Station, from version 2.1 of the dynadock Software Installation CD the following error message may be displayed, each time Windows is restarted:

This error only occurs during installation from the version 2.1 Software Installation CD included with the dynadock models PA3541U-2PRP and PA3542-2PRP -- and only on computers running Windows Vista.

Resolution


1. Download and install version 0.7.216 or newer of the dynadock audio driver from the Toshiba Service and Support website.

2. Uninstall the old audio driver.

3. Install the new audio driver.

Procedure


1. Click the following link to download the dynadock audio driver version 0.7.216. Save the downloaded driver file audio_dynadock_os2007250a.exe to the Windows Desktop.

2. Uninstall the old Audio driver

      A. Click the Windows Start button, then click Control Panel.

      B. Click Programs, then click Programs and Features.

      C. Click Uninstall a program, which is under the Programs and Features heading.

     D. Click TOSHIBA USB Audio then click Uninstall/Change.

     E. Click Run or Allow if a User Account Control windows appears.

     F. Click Finish. The computer will restart.

3. Install the new Audio driver

     A. Double-click the audio_dynadock_os2007250a.exe file.

     B. Click OK then Unzip, then OK. The TOSHIBA USB Audio driver installation will begin.

     C. Click Run or Allow if a User Account Control windows appears.

     D. Click Finish. The computer will restart.

The error message should no longer appear when the computer is started.
