The Toshiba Hotkey Utility (version 1.3.5.0) that is factory-installed on the Satellite L10 and L15 models may be the cause of the following behaviors:

• Excessive memory use
  
  
• A decrease in sound volume after the computer is restarted

A new release of the Toshiba Hotkey Utility (version 1.6.7.0) addresses these issues.

Download and install version 1.6.7.0 (or newer) of the Toshiba Hotkey Utility, per the instructions below.

1. Save all open documents and any other work, and close all programs.

2. Download the Toshiba Hotkey Utility version 1.6.7.0 (sl10thotkeyx.exe) and save it to the Windows Desktop, or to a conveniently-located folder.

3. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the Desktop, or to the folder where the sl10thotkeyx.exe file was saved, and double-click its filename to launch it.

4. The utility will self-extract to a temporary folder, and the Toshiba Hotkey Utility installation will start. Press the Enter key in response to all of its prompts.


5. Restart Windows.
