- Issue
It may not be possible to select either the Character Pad or the Writing Pad from the Tablet PC Input Panel. Instead, one of the following messages is displayed:"The character pad is not available for the language you have selected."
(or) "The writing pad is not available for the language you have selected."
- Resolution
Follow these steps to make the Character and Writing pads selectable from the Tablet PC Input Panel:- Click Start, then Control Panel.
- Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options.
- Click Regional and Language Options.
- Select the Languages Tab.
- Click the Details button.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Uncheck "Turn off advanced text services".
- Check "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs".
- Click Apply.
- You will be invited to restart the computer. Save any open data files, and then click Yes.
