Information

The Toshiba Gigabeat digital audio player can play music files in any of these three file formats: MP3, WAV and WMA (.mp3, .wav, .wma).

Music files can be transferred to the Gigabeat from a computer, using the Toshiba Audio Application software that ships on a CD included with the Gigabeat.

Follow this procedure to prepare the Gigabeat and the computer for transferring music files:

1. Charge the Gigabeat's battery, using the supplied AC adapter, until the orange power light on the face of the Gigabeat turns green.

2. Before connecting the Gigabeat to the computer, install the Toshiba Audio Application on the computer that will be the source of music files for the Gigabeat.

3. Launch the Toshiba Audio Application.

4. Connect the Gigabeat to the computer's USB port.

Once the Gigabeat is connected, a blue icon will show up in the left pane of the applications window, showing which drive letter has been assigned to the Gigabeat. The Gigabeat's display will indicate that a connection has been established. Follow these steps to transfer music files to the Gigabeat

1. With the Gigabeat connected, and the Audio Application running, you can create new folders for your music files on the Gigabeat by selecting File, Menu, then New Folder.

2. Select the music files to transfer from the computer, and than click Copy from the Edit menu.

3. Select the Gigabeat folder to which you'd like to transfer the files, and than click Paste from the Edit menu.

It's also possible to drag and drop selected files from a CD to the Gigabeat folder.

Windows Media Player (version 9 or newer) can also be used to transfer music files to the GigaBeat.
