The Add or Remove Programs window will look similar to this illustration, with no entry for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Place a check mark in the Show updates box at the top of the window.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 will now appear in the list.

To remove Service Pack 2, click the entry for it in the list to select it, and then click the Remove button.
Windows XP will launch the installation wizard for Service Pack 2. Follow its instructions to remove Service Pack 2.
