Information

After the installation of Windows XP with Service Pack 2, or of the Windows XP Service Pack 2 upgrade,it's necessary to run the Live Update feature of Norton AntiVirus 2004 in order to install the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) update from Symantec (the publisher of Norton AntiVirus).

WMI maintains a connection between the Norton AntiVirus app and the Windows XP Security Center (supported by Service Pack 2), for monitoring and for the transmission of security alerts.

Earlier version of Norton AntiVirus (2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, Corporate) can receive the WMI update only after Windows XP Service Pack 2 is officially released. After that date, the WMI update will be available through Live Update for all versions of Norton AntiVirus.
