The following tips may be helpful, in order, when installing the Socket Communications SDIO Bluetooth card (BL4800-392) into Toshiba-branded Pocket PCs.

1. Make sure that the Socket Communications SDIO Bluetooth card is compatible with the Toshiba-branded Pocket PC. As of June 3, 2004, the only models of the Toshiba-branded Pocket PCs compatible with the Socket Communications SDIO Bluetooth card are the e400, e405, e800, and e805.
   
   
2. Uninstall (if applicable) any other Bluetooth software installed on the Pocket PC.Tap Start > Settings > Systems > Remove Programs to verify the presence of and remove any other installed Bluetooth software.
   
   
3. Install the Socket Bluetooth software using the CD that shipped with the card, or download the software from their website at http://www.socketcom.com. The e400, e405, e800, and e805 ship pre-installed with the Toshiba Bluetooth Software as part of the software image (it does not appear in the Remove Programs list). If you are prompted to overwrite files when installing the Socket Communications Bluetooth software. You MUST reply "Yes To All".
   
   
4. After installing the Socket Communications Bluetooth software, perform a soft reset before inserting the Socket SDIO Bluetooth card. (If you perform a hard reset, you will need to reinstall the Socket Communications Bluetooth software.)
