
How to Record Using an External Microphone

- Issue
You may be unable to record through an external microphone.
- Resolution
Toshiba Satellite P10/15 models don't have a built in microphone, so you'll need to use an external microphone to record voices or other sounds. Using an external mic requires just a bit of additional configuration.
- Double click the speaker on the taskbar or right click and select open.
- Take the check mark out of mute all in volume control.
- Go to options to properties and under recording put a check mark in Microphones and then click OK.
- Go to options to properties and under playback put a check mark in Microphones and then click OK.
- This will give you a advanced button under microphones make sure there is no mute and select advanced.
- This will bring up Advanced Control for Microphone- make sure that "1 Mic 2 select" is not checked and the next box "2 MC boost" is not checked. They should not be checked by default.
- You should now be able to record and playback with an external microphone
- Procedure
