Windows XP Home Edition (HE) With SP1 Cannot be Updated to Windows XP Pro Without SP1

Issue

System fails to update from R-CD (Windows XP HE SP1) to Windows XP Professional (without SP1).

*This issue will not happen if we use Windows XP Pro SP1.

Resolution

This is a Microsoft issue.

Microsoft does not support upgrading Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 1 (SP1) to Windows XP Professional without SP1.
