- Issue
If the user opens the Windows Media Player and then inserts a CD, the installed Driktek CDA player will immediately appear and begin playing the CD. After a few moments the Windows Media Player will also begin playing the CD.
COMMENTS:
This occurs because the Dritek CDA Player is the default Music CD Player and Windows Media Player is not.- Resolution
Currently un-installing the Dritek "Easy Button" program is the only way to disable it permanently
but by disabling the "Easy Button" program you also disables the computers external CD buttons.
Note: The external CD buttons were designed only to operate with the Dritek CDA Player. If the Dritek "Easy button" program is removed the external CD buttons will not function with the WIndows Media Player.
WORKAROUND:
Disable Auto-Insert Notification for the CD player. When a CD is inserted into the CD player neither of the CD players will automatically start. It is then up to you to decide which CD Audio program you wish to you. To disable auto-insert notification do the following:
- Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel
- Double-click System then click the Device Manager Tab
- Double-click CDROM and then Toshiba CD-ROM XM-7002Bc
- Click the Settings Tab.
- In the Options box click to remove the check for Auto Insert Notification
- Click OK, OK and then Restart the computer when prompted.
Note: An added benefit of disabling auto-insert notification can be slightly improved battery life.
The CD player will no longer be automatically polling the CD player which utilizes system/battery power.- Export Control and EULA
