Playing DVDs on Your Portege R100 Computer The following information supersedes that which is contained in the documentation that shipped with your computer, and reflects the most up-to-date information for your system.

If you are using an external Toshiba DVD-ROM drive, you can watch DVD movies using the InterVideo WinDVD™ application. You will first need to run WinDVD setup from your computer’s hard disk drive.

To set up WinDVD:

  1. Use Windows Explorer to browse to the C:\Toshiba\WinDVD folder
  2. Double-click the Setup.exe file.
  3. Follow the on-screen installation instructions to complete the setup.

Note: Do not use the WinDVD software CD that shipped with the external Toshiba DVD-ROM drive. The version of the software on the CD will not operate with your system.
