Issue
When using the Verizon ADSL Modem (Wirespeed by Westel), users are unable to receive a valid DHCP assigned IP Address from the ISP. If the Internet Connection Setting is set to DSL (DHCP), and the PPPOE option is selected (correct Username and Password is provided), the SG10 may receive an IP Address of 10.112.112.112.
Resolution

Configure the Internet settings for LAN (DHCP). The user will not have to provide the ISP assigned Username and Password.

  1. Access the SG10 Administration page and click on the Network tab.
  2. Click on the Internet link to access the Internet Connection settings page.
  3. Click on the Configure link for Internet Connection.
  4. Select LAN and click Next.
  5. Select DHCP or Static IP Address (Depends on your ISP service. If Static is selected, be sure to enter the IP information provided by your ISP.)
  6. Click Finish.

COMMENTS:
Some ADSL modems are configured to function in "Bridge Mode". For the SG10 to participate on the broadband connection the Internet settings must be configured as LAN. For more information on your ADSL modem, contact your ISP or the Manufacturer of the ADSL modem.
