How do I adjust the settings for the SpeedStep processor in my notebook computer.
COMMENT:
SpeedStep technology lets you customize high-performance computing on your mobile PC. This feature is available in many Intel PIII CPUs including the 750, 700, 650, 600 and 600 (low voltage) MHZ. This feature allows the processor to "switch gears" in order to maximize processing power or conserve battery life under certain conditions.
Example: At 750 MHZ, your new mobile PC runs the most complex business and Internete applications with speeds virtually identical to a desktop system. When powered by a battery, the processing frequency drops to 600 MHz, conserving battery life while maintaining a high-level of performance. Manual override lets you boost the frequency back to 750 when on battery allowing you to customize performance.- Resolution
The SpeedStep settings can be adjusted in two places.
