Information

Dynabook products are made with a variety of materials, and each material might have specific cleaning requirements.

Here are some tips that apply to all products:

•             Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items.

•             Avoid excessive wiping or pressure, which might cause damage.

•             Unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables.

•             Keep liquids away from the product, unless otherwise noted for specific products.

•             Do not get moisture into any openings.

•             Do not use aerosol sprays, bleaches, ammonia, chemicals or abrasives.

•             Do not spray cleaners directly onto the item.

Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my Dynabook products?

Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Dynabook product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Do not use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and do not submerge your Dynabook product in any cleaning agents. If liquid makes its way inside your Dynabook product, get help from a Dynabook Authorized Service Provider as soon as possible. Liquid damage isn't covered under the Dynabook product warranty.

CAUTION: Do not use any of the following chemicals or any solutions that contain and not limited to: acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. If you have a different chemical or solution and are not sure whether it is suitable, do not use it. Using any of the chemicals noted above may cause permanent damage to the laptop. Some commercial window cleaners contain ammonia and are, therefore, should not be used.

Notebook computers:

When cleaning the outside of your Dynabook, first shut down your computer and unplug the power adapter. Then use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the computer's exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives, chemicals, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide that might damage the finish.

Notebook Displays:

To clean the screen on your Dynabook, first shut down the computer and unplug the power adapter. Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with water only, then use it to gently clean the computer's screen.

If additional cleaning of the display panel or case is required, use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean the display.

Do not clean the screen of your display with a cleaner containing acetone. Use a cleaner intended for use with a LCD screen or display. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen as it may drip inside the Laptop and cause damage.

Head Mounted Displays [HMD] - (Smart Glasses):

To clean the Head Mounted Display case, first shut down the computer and unplug the power adapter. Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with water only, then use it to gently clean the exterior of the Head Mounted Display case.

To clean the Head Mounted Display screen, dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with water only, then use it to gently clean the HMD LCD screen.

Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean the HMD LCD screen.

NOTE: Microfiber cloths such as those used to clean eyeglasses are excellent for use with LCD screens. Many cleaning solutions are sold specifically as LCD cleaners; consult the instructions and precautions included with the LCD screen cleaner before using on your laptop. Dynabook is not responsible for any damage caused by using a 3rd party LCD Screen cleaner product. Alternately, you may use a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixture (or alcohol wipes) to clean your LCD screen; front/back covers may also be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol (or alcohol wipes).
