CONFIGUREING USB POWER MANAGEMENT OPTIONS
Open device manager by pressing Windows - X and selecting Device Manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers by selecting the > symbol in front of Universal Serial Bus controllers
Right mouse click on USB Root Hub to bring up the options dialogue and select Properties
Select the Power Management Tab along the top and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
Finally Select OK to save the changes
Close the device manager window by using the X in the upper right corner
ADJUSTING WIRELESS ADAPTER FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
In the Windows search in the task bar type in Power & Sleep then select Power & sleep settings
Select the Additional Power settings link on the right
Select Change plan settings
Select Change advanced power settings
Expand Wireless Adapter Settings
Expand Power Saving Mode
Ensure that both On battery & Plugged In are both set for Maximum Performance. To change the option select the appropraie hyperlink and change to Maximum Performance and press OK to save
