How to correct a laptop that appears to not sit steady on a flat surface

Issue

 

The laptop does not sit flat on a hard flat surface.

Resolution

 

To correct this condition follow the steps below:

  1. Close the laptop and turn the laptop upside down on a flat table
  2. Loosen al the screws securing the bottom cover in place. Note that you may need to remove any bottom cushions that are covering and bottom cover screws.
  3. With the screws loosened use a soft cloth and with a VERY light amount of pressure in a circular pattern rub from inside out on the bottom cover to apply a uniform fit of thebottom cover to chassis.
  4. Tighten the screws in a pattern shown below. NOTE:Start with the screw labeled number one and work in a zig zag pattern from the outside in.

  5. Re-apply any cushions that wrere removed to expose bottom screws.
