- In the Start Menu's search field, type "Device Manager" and press "ENTER."
- In the Device Manager, expand "Network adapters."
- Right-click on the wireless device and select "Properties."
- On the "Power Management tab, uncheck the box next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
If that doesn't fix it, the next step is to alter power settings.
- In the Start Menu's search field, type "Power Options" and press "ENTER."
- Next to your selected plan, click "Change plan settings."
- Now click "Change advanced power settings.
- Expand "Wireless Adapter Settings."
- Then, expand "Power Saving Mode" under that. Separate settings will be present for "On battery" and "Plugged in." Ensure both (or whichever with which you're concerned) are set to "Maximum Performance."
- Next, expand "USB settings."
- Under that, expand "USB selective suspend setting." Ensure these are set to "Disabled." Press "OK."
- Now click "Save changes" to save your changes.
