- Information
Many of the available TOSHIBA consumer electronic products have home network capabilities (wired and/or wireless). These products also feature Internet applications known as "Widgets". While many of these widgets are open to general use, some require that a customer account be established. Generally, Widget services that stream audio or video content such as pay-per-view movies or Internet radio require a customer account. Customer accounts are usually created from an Internet connected PC and then activated on the network connected device through the Widget application.
NOTE: Not all TVs and Blu-Ray players have network capabilities. Refer to your Owners Manual for your specific model for complete details and information about network capabilities and widget use.
Currently the following widgets used with some Toshiba products require account activation:
- Netflix
- Pandora
- Vudu
- Skype
NOTE: Not all Toshiba products have these features.
Deactivation of these accounts is required if, for some reason, they are no longer to be used on the individual pieces of equipment. Deactivation does not cancel the account, but merely breaks the association with the piece of equipment.
Accessing
1. Look for the the following buttons on the remote control (or go to MENU > NETWORK > NET TV.)
- NET TV (to chose the widget)
- NETFLIX (to access this widget directly)
- YAHOO (additional personalized widgets)
NOTE: Not all Toshiba products have these buttons on the remote.
2. Use the arrow keys and OK button to select the desired application.
3. Follow any on-screen instructions to properly setup the applicationfor use.
IMPORTANT: After March 31st, 2012, the Blockbuster App for streaming movies will no longer be available on Toshiba televisions and/or Blu-ray players. If you have used the Blockbuster streaming movie service with your Toshiba TV or Blu-ray player, Blockbuster will notify you via e-mail about the cancellation of the service. Customers using other devices, like computers or tablet PC, will still be able to get the Blockbuster App for streaming movies.
