To change your own password

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and choose Change a password.
2. Follow the instructions, tap or click Submit, and then tap or click OK.

NOTE: From here you can also choose to create a password disc. This is recommended and is helpful in dealing with a forgotten password without having to reinstall Windows and loosing your data.

To change other people's passwords

NOTE: To change passwords for other user accounts, you'll need an administrator account.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Go to "Control Panel".
  3. Choose "Users Accounts and Family Safety".
  4. Select "User Accounts".
  5. Locate and select "Manage another account".
  6. On the next screen, choose the account you want to modify.
  7. When the account displays, select "Change the Password" and follow the instructions.
