Opening apps

Locate the app you wish to open and touch  or click  on it.

Closing apps

Pressing the Windows key  while using an app leaves the app running but allows you to switch to a different task. To properly close an app:

  • Place the mouse pointer in the middle of the top edge of the screen in an open app  until a hand appears. Then click and drag the hand to the bottom of the screen.
  • Alternatively, touch the top of the app  in the center and drag it to the bottom to close.

You can also close an app by placing the pointer in the upper-left corner  to display the most recently used app, then move down along the left side of the screen to display all open apps, right-click the desired app and select "Close."


Switching between apps

You can switch to your most recently used app or between other apps using one of the below methods:

  • Place the pointer  in the upper-left corner to view your most recently used app. Click on the app to switch to that app.
  • Place the pointer  in the upper-left corner to display the most recently used app, then move down along the left side of the screen to display all open apps. You can switch to an app by clicking on it or close an app by right-clicking it and selecting "Close."
  • Swipe in from the left  to switch to your most recently used app. You can also swipe in about one inch (1") from the left side of the screen and then, without lifting your finger, swipe back to the edge of the screen to display all open apps. Select one of the available apps to switch to that app.

Shortcut: Press and hold Alt and repeatedly press Tab to cycle through all open apps and Desktop programs. Press and hold the Windows key  and repeatedly press Tab to cycle through all open apps.
