TOSHIBA Hi-Speed start allows for faster boot times. This feature can be anabled and disabled.
NOTE: Not all laptops are available with this feature. Refer to the User's Gude for the specific laptop for details.
Enable / Disable Hi-Speed Start
Windows 7
- Click on the Start menu button.
- In the search field type "HWSetup".
- Click on "HWSetup" in the search returns to open the HWSetup Utility.
- Select the "Boot Setting" tab.
- Under "Boot Speed" select "Fast" or "Normal".
- Selct "Apply" to set.
- You will be prompted to select to reboot now or make changes on next reboot.
Windows 8
NOTE: On machines upgraded from Windows 7 or earlier, search for "HWSetup" and follow the procedures above.
- From the Windows Start screen, press the "Windows + C" keys to open the charms bar.
- Select "Search" from the charms bar.
- In the search field type "System Settings".
- Click on "System Settings" in the Apps search returns to open System Settings.
- Select the "Boot" tab.
- Under "Boot Speed" select "Fast" or "Normal".
- Selct "Apply" to set.
