The Panel Open Power On function will power up the laptop (when shut down) when the laptop lid is opened. This function must be manually enabled through the Power Options.
To Enable / Disable Panel Open Power On:
Windows 7
- Click on the Start menu.
- Select "Control Panel".
- Locate and open "Hardware and Sound" settings.
- Click "Power Options".
- In the Left navigation pane select "Panel Open - Power On".
- HWSetup will open with the "Boot Setting" tab selected.
- Locate the "Panel Open - Power On" setting and choose "Enable" or "Disable".
- Click the "Apply" button to set.
Windows 8
- At the Start screen, press the "Windows+C" keys to open the charms bar.
- Select "Search" in the charms bar.
- Type "Control Panel" into the search field.
- Select "Control Panel" from the Apps returns.
- Locate and open "Hardware and Sound" settings.
- Click "Power Options".
- In the Left navigation pane select "Panel Open - Power On".
- System Settings will open with the "Boot" tab selected.
- Locate the "Panel Open - Power On" setting and choose "Enable" or "Disable".
- Click the "Apply" button to set.
