If a Laptop loses its wireless connection periodically, ensure the wireless settings are set to "Automatic" and not "Manual" by performing the following procedure. This mmay or may not resolve your issue.

  1. Open Network and Sharing Center. You can do this by right-clicking on the network connection icon (wireless or wired) near the clock in the taskbar.
  2. In the left-hand pane, locate and click on "Manage wireless networks". If you are not connected to any wireless networks or have not been, there may be nothing listed.
  3. Locate the Wireless Network in question and double-click on the icon to access the Wireless Network Properties.
  4. Place a check mark in the box for "Connect automatically when this network is in range".
  5. If necessary, remove the check mark in the box for "Connect to a more preferred network if available".
  6. Click OK to save the settings and close the Network Properties dialogue box.
  7. Reboot the computer to confirm the wireless connection remains intact.
