Open an App

Once installed on your machine as described in Downloading and Installing Apps from the Windows Store, simply locate the App on the Start Screen and click on it to open. Multiple Apps can be opened at the same time.

Switch Between Open Apps

If you want to switch to the app you were just using, here's how:

	With touch, swipe in from the left edge.
	With a mouse, move your pointer into the upper-left corner, and then click the corner.

If you want to switch to a different app you were using recently, here's how:

	With touch, swipe in from the left edge without lifting your finger, and then push the app back toward the left edge. You'll see the apps you've used recently, plus Start. Tap the one you want.
	With a mouse, move your pointer into the upper-left corner and then move it down the left edge. You'll see the apps you've used recently, plus Start. Click the one you want.

Closing an app

Apps you install from the Windows Store don’t slow down your PC, so you don’t need to close them. When you’re not using an app, Windows will leave it running in the background and then close it eventually. It’s still a good idea to close desktop apps when you're done using them, particularly before shutting down your PC.

App you are currently using:

You can close an app you are currently using in one of two ways.

• Using a touch screen or when using a mouse, select the top of the App window (a hand icon will appear) and drag the app from the top of the screen to the bottom to close.
• Press Alt+F4 to close.

App you were using recently:

1. With touch, swipe in from the left edge without lifting your finger, and then push the app back toward the left edge. You'll see the apps you've used recently, plus Start.
   With a mouse, move your pointer into the upper-left corner and then move it down the left edge. You'll see the apps you've used recently, plus Start.
   
2. Right-click the app you want to close.
3. Select "Close" to close the App.
