Question
How do I update the firmware on my Blu-ray player?
Answer
Normally the player will provide on-screen indication when a firmware update is available. If so, refer to the AUTOMATIC UPDATES procedure. To manually check for firmware updates, refer to the MANUAL UPDATES procedure. The following procedures are for a BDX2250. Your player may be similar in operation. Always refer to your Owner's Manual for the correct procedure.
IMPORTANT: For either procedure it is important to never turn off the player during the update process. Doing so may damage the player and render it inoperable. TOSHIBA will not be responsible for damage or malfunctions caused to the player due to an unstable Internet connection or neglegence during firmware updates.
Automatic Updates
- If an update is available and the player is on and connected to the Internet, an on-screen message will announce that availability.
- Use the Left/Right arrow keys on the remote to highlight OK, then press the OK button to start the update.
- After the firware update installs, a completion message will apprear and the player will automatically restart.
Manual Updates
- Ensure the player is on and successfully connected to the Internet. Press the Menu button.
- Use the Left/Right arrow keys on the remote to select Settings > System > Update Via Network and press the OK button.
- Press the OK button to search for updates.
- If an update is found, press OK to install. If no updates are found, press OK to exit.
- After the firware update completes, a message will apprear and the player will automatically restart.
