How To: Set home page in Internet Explorer 9 (IE9)

After upgrading to Internet Explorer 9 (IE9), the browser may no longer display your desired home (start) page. To reset your home page, perform the following:

  1. Open the IE9 browser and go to the page you wish to have as your default home page.
  2. Click on the gear icon located in the upper Right corner of the browser window.
  3. Once the menu opens, select INTERNET OPTIONS.
  4. Under the GENERAL tab you will find the home page settings. Select the USE CURRENT button to set the displayed page as your home page (the TOSHIBA start page is shown in this example) and selecting the OK button at the bottom of the window.
    Note: You can also set your home page by typing it directly into the field (Google home page in this example) and then select the OK button to set.
  5. After selecting your desired home page, to view you must close the browser and open it again. Once opened, your new home page will be displayed in the browser.
