My notebook will not load Windows or boot into Safe Mode?
Answer
If you do not have a Windows 7 System Repair disc, one will need to be created on a second computer.
A Windows 7 System Repair disc can be made from within a copy of Windows. It's important to use one that's the same bit-ness as the Windows being fixed. (A Windows 7, 64-bit OS, would require a Windows 7, 64bit, System Repair Disk.)
To create one from within Windows perform the following:
- Insert a blank disc in the optical drive.
- Open the Start Menu.
- Select "Control Panel."
- Select "Backup and Restore."
- Click "Create a system repair disc."
- Select your disc drive.
- Click "Create disc."
Boot the computer having issues using the newly created System Repair disc. Then try a Startup Repair and a System Restore from the Windows Recovery Environment.
