This is the 7.9M3, the second public maintenance release of 7.9. It has been put
through a full system test and is suitable for deployment to end-users.

This software release contains an embedded firmware image.

DisplayLink Software Release R7.9M3 delivers the following improvements:
- Latest release for Windows 10 Threshold 2 update, due in November
- Critical bug fixes

- The DisplayLink device could remain in device manager for up to 30 seconds
after disconnecting the USB cable. This problem was only visible on Windows
7 with an Intel USB 3.0 host controller. (20509)

- DisplayLink monitors can stop working with the latest (October 2015 or later)
primary card graphic drivers on Windows 10. (20717)

- The Start button or Microsoft apps might fail to operate on Windows 10 with
DisplayLink software installed. (20160)

- Installation of DisplayLink software is not successful if 8.3 short
file names are disabled. This was a regression in v7.8 software (20595)

- Monitors attached to DisplayLink device might briefly show a corrupted
desktop image during mode changes. (20254, 20441)

- The resolution 2560x1440 was not be available for some monitors with
invalid EDID. (20390)

- 'Fit to TV' compensation feature was not available on Windows 10. (20107)

- Sometimes a transient corruption can be visible on DisplayLink monitor during
replugging USB cable if the monitor is connected to DisplayPort. (19704)

- On some monitors connected to DisplayLink device via HDMI, the audio stream
can be distorted or there can be no audio available. (20417, 20510)

- The DisplayLink installer did not show an error when trying to install on Windows
Vista. (20386)

- On some platforms re-plugging the DisplayLink device from USB port
can result in BSOD. (20235)

- On some systems incorrect message stating "cannot install on this
operating system" can be seen. (20406)

- On some systems, the "Software installation ended prematurely message" can
be seen. (20422)

- Wake On LAN may be not work as expected on Windows 7 if a dock is connected
to USB 3.0 port. (20240)

- On Windows 10, the monitor number is missing from the DisplayLink UI in the
system tray when two monitors are connected to DisplayLink device. (19697)

- Some third party applications (found with ATIeRecord) can show a Windows
Event error after multiple restarts of the PC with DisplayLink software
installed. (19871)

- DisplayLink software can occasionally fail to upgrade from older release
when downloaded from Windows Update. (20056)

- Landscape mode might is not available for DL-41xx equipped with tilt sensor
on Windows 10. (20106)

- The On Screen Display is not available for DL-41xx devices on Windows 10.
(20109, 20345)

- Corporate software (MSI files) could claim to be from an Invalid Publisher.
(20171)

- On some Intel Atom platforms on Windows 10 a primary monitor can be blank
after DisplayLink Software is installed and connecting DisplayLink monitor.

System behaviour with DisplayLink attached screens has been well tested.
Testing covers plug/unplug, mode changes, playing video, hibernate,
sleep/standby, multiple users, different user rights, attached screen as
primary screen, attached screen as only screen, and other aspects.
