You can assign a new drive letter manually in Disk Management.

1. Right click on lower left corner of the Start screen and click Disk Management.

3. Once you identify the drive you want to assign a new letter to, right click on it. From the drop down list, click on Change Drive Letter and Paths... In this example, we will be changing the letter on drive A:
4. The next screen will display the selected drive. Click on Change.
5. Click on the down arrow (next to the current drive letter) and choose the new letter you want to assign to the drive. In this example we chose E:
6. Once you have selected the new drive letter, click on OK to continue.
7. A warning window will be displayed stating that programs may not run properly if they are reading information from the selected drive. NOTE: Be sure there are no programs running on the selected drive. Once you have confirmed this, click on Yes to continue.
