The following items are required to use Cortana
- Connection to the Internet
- Logged into a Microsoft Account
- A working Microphone
Preparing to use Cortana
- First you will need to be connected to the internet to be able to use Cortana
- Next you will need to be logged into a microsoft account.
There are 4 ways to access Cortana
- Speak "Hey Cortana" to the microphone on your PC
"Hey Cortana" must be enabled in the notebook settings menu - See below - Press the Microphone button to the right of the search entry field
- Press Windows + C combination
- Press the Cortana Button on the keyboard
Not all PC's have a Cortana button
Enabling "Hey Cortana"
To enable "Hey Cortana" to get Cortana to start listening to your voice command:
- Place the cursor in the search field
- Select the notebook icon
- Select Settings
- Under "Let Cortana respond to Hey Cortana" Select On
- Export Control and EULA
- Use of any software made available for download from this system constitutes your acceptance of the Export Control Terms and the terms in the Dynabook end-user license agreement both of which you can view before downloading any such software.
