Blue Screens of Death may occur on computers with the Samsung MZMTE128HMGR SSD.

A firmware update was released to correct this issue. After confirming that your computer has the Samsung MZMTE128HMGR SSD please download and install this Samsung SSD firmware update.

Verify the type of Disk in your computer

1. Open Device Manager, then click Disk drives.
2. If Samsung MSMTE128HMGR-00000 is listed, then install the firmware update.
3. If Samsung MSMTE128HMGR-00000 is not listed, then this Firmware Update is not for your computer.

Installation Instructions

1. Download and save the file to a convenient location.
2. Save all work in progress and close open applications.
3. Double-click the downloaded file to start extraction of the firmware files.
4. If a User Account Control or Open File message is displayed, press Yes.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Unzip to start file extraction.
7. From the C:\Diag\OS2015035A\Windows_Update folder, right-click on ToshibaFWUpdater, then select Run as administrator.
8. Click Yes if a User Account Control message is displayed.
9. Click Yes after reading the warning message.
10. Click OK after the firmware update is completed.
11. Restart the computer.

Notes

1. If the update has already been installed, Your SSD already has the latest firmware will be displayed.
2. If the drive in your computer is not the intended Samsung MSMTE128HMGR SSD, Firmware update is not available for this storage will be displayed.
