- Issue
On occasion, you may experience a system lockup indicated by no keyboard function, or in the event your system is not powered on, you do not have the ability to power on and boot the system.
- Resolution
Complete a system force shutdown.
- Procedure
Complete a force shutdown by carefully inserting a small paperclip into the hole shown within the circle in figure 1 below and momentarily pressing the force shutdown switch. You will be able to feel the switch activation. If the system appears to be locked while booted, a successful activation of the force shutdown switch will be noted when the system shuts down. Note that the system shuts down, it does not reboot. If the system is in a powered off state and cannot be booted, a successful activation of the force shutdown switch will be noted when you are able to power on and boot the system. In either scenario, you will be able to feel the switch activation.
