This document provides installation procedures for software related to the Bluetooth PC Card
and related application programs. Install the listed software in the order shown.

• Installing Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card drivers
• Installing Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite application software.
• Installing the SPANworks 2000 software
• Starting SPANworks for the first time.
  

Installing Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card drivers

1. Turn on computer and boot into Windows. Make sure no other programs are running.
2. Insert the Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card into the PCMCIA slot. Windows will detect the card and the Windows "New Hardware Found" windows will open and then the "Add New Hardware Wizard" windows.
3. Select "Specify the location for the driver (Advanced)" and click "Next".
4. Insert the Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite CD. If the Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite installation auto plays, cancel out of the installation.
5. Select "Specify a location:".
6. In the drop down box type "x:\drivers\Win9x". (Where x is the driver letter of your CD-ROM drive.).
7. Click on "Next".
8. Windows will detect "Bluetooth PC Card". Click on "Next".
9. Files will copy and you will get a double beep. In the "Add New Hardware Wizard" window click on "Finish".
10. Windows will now detect a "Bluetooth Ethernet Adapter". Leave "Automatically search for driver" selected and click on next.
11. Windows will detect the drivers on the Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite CD and install them.
12. At the "Add New Hardware Wizard" window click on "Finish".
13. When asked if you want to restart your computer, click on "Yes" and the computer will shutdown and restart.
14. The Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card driver installation is complete.
    Notes: In Device Manager there will be a Bluetooth PC Card under "Bluetooth" and a "Bluetooth Ethernet Adapter" under "Network Adapters".
    

Installing Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite application software.

1. Insert the Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite CD into unit. If it does not auto play then complete the following, otherwise continue with step 2.
   a. Click on "Start"
   b. Click on "Run"
   c. Type "x:\setup.exe" and click "OK" (Where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.)
   d. Continue with step 2.
2. In the "Choose Setup Language" windows make sure "English" is selected and click on "OK".
3. In the "Bluetooth Software Suite v1.01 Setup" window click on "Next".
4. In the "License Agreement" window, read the License Agreement and then click on "Yes" to accept and proceed to next screen.
5. In the "Choose Destination Location" window leave at the default and click on "Next".
6. In the "Select Program Folder" window leave at the default and click on "Next".
7. In the InstallShield Wizard Complete" window select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." Click on "Finish". The computer will restart and the Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite is now installed and the Network Profile created and is ready to use.
   

Installing the SPANworks 2000 software

1. Insert the SPANworks Bluetooth PC Card Software Suite CD into unit. If it does not auto play then complete the following, otherwise continue with step 2.
   a. Click on "Start"
   b. Click on "Run"
   c. Type "x:\setup.exe" and click "OK" (Where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.)
   d. Continue with step 2.
2. The "SPANworks 2000 - InstallShield Wizard" welcome window opens. Click on "Next.
3. The "License Agreement" window opens. After reading the License Agreement, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click on "Next".
4. The "Customer Information" window opens. Enter the "User Name" and "Organization" and click on "Next".
5. In the "Setup Type" window select "Complete" and click on "Next".
6. In the "Ready to Install the Program" window click on "Install".
7. In the "InstallShield Wizard Completed" window click on "Finish".
   

Starting SPANworks for the first time.

1. Double-click the Bluetooth Neighborhood icon on the Desktop to open Bluetooth Neighborhood. This MUST be running prior to starting SPANworks 2000.
2. On the menu click on "Bluetooth" and select "Device Discovery". A "Device Discovery" window will open and all functioning Bluetooth devices in range will be detected.
3. In the "Local Services" frame click on and drag the "Network" icon and drop it on the icon for the device that you want to connect with.
4. The "Establishing Link" window will open and the link will be established. Both the "Network" and the connected devices’ icons will have yellow arrows. Repeat as necessary for each device you wish to connect to.
5. Double-click the SPANworks 2000 icon on the Desktop.
6. When the "SPANworks Welcome" windows opens. Click on "Next".
7. In the "SPANworks - User Information" window, enter the user name (nickname) you wish to use to identify yourself. You can also assign an image to further identify yourself. The image can be .BMP or .JPG format, but must be less than 32K in size. When finished entering the User Name and selecting image click on "Next".
8. When prompted to select a directory for the received files leave at the default and click on "Next".
9. Click "Finish" to save the setup information. SPANworks 2000 will then open. You will see who you are connected to under the "SPAN Neighborhood".
10. You are ready to use SPANworks 2000.
