When connecting SCSI devices to both the internal and external connectors on the RAID controller, you must disable termination on the SCSI channel you are connecting the external device to on the RAID controller. Failure to change this setting prior to connecting an external SCSI device may result in damage to the MegaRAID controller. Please call Toshiba technical support if this occurs.
You can call Toshiba Technical Support at 1-800-457-7777- Resolution
Disable the termination for the SCSI channel you are connecting both internal and external devices to using the following procedure.
- Enter the MegaRAID Configuration Utility by pressing CTRL+M when the MegaRAID Controller version is displayed.
- Under the Management Menu select "Objects".
- Under the Objects menu select "SCSI Channel".
- Under SCSI Channel select the appropriate SCSI Channel and set the "Termination State" to "Disable".
- Answer "Yes" to Change Parameter and use the
"Esc" key to exit from the MegaRAID
Configuration Utility and reboot the server.
COMMENTS:
After disabling termination on the SCSI channel of the MegaRAID controller you must enable termination on the external SCSI device. Consult the Users Guide for the SCSI device for instructions.
NOTE: The internal SCSI hard drives provided by Toshiba are already terminated.- Export Control and EULA
