"A Disk Read Error Occurred", while installing Windows 2000

During a Windows 2000 installation with an AMI MegaRAID 428 card, the server boots to the following error message:
A disk read error occurred.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart.- Resolution
The AMI MegaRAID 428 card does not support NTFS system partitions over 8GB. In order to support a NTFS partition 8GB in size or a larger a different RAID adapter must be used. This is a limitation of the AMI MegaRAID card.
COMMENTS:
This issue does not occur with the MR438 card.
