How do I configure the DVD player after installing Windows 2000
Procedure

Important Note!
This document only covers the steps necessary to configure the DVD player. It is recommended that you download and install all the drivers and utilities located on the Toshiba web site that is specific to your model.

Warning! If your machine originally was configured with Windows MEyou must perform a clean installation of Windows 2000 as well as the following steps.

RESOLUTION:
To configure the Mediamatics DVD player after installing Windows 2000 perform the following steps;

  1. Download and install the display driver
  2. Download and install Toshiba ACPI Common Modules
  3. Download and install the sound driver
  4. Install the Mediamatics DVD Express player software

    Note: It may be necessary for you to restart the computer 2 to 3 times before the DVD player will work properly.

    COMMENTS:
    Once you have installed the Mediamatics DVD Express player/decoder there are a couple of things you should also be aware of.

    DVD patches:
    Some Toshiba models may require the use of a update or Mediamatics DVD patch. DVD patches are located on the Toshiba PC Support website at: http://www.pcsupport.toshiba.com
    Note: If there is a patch available, you should download and use it.

    Battery Mode Settings:
    DVD playback may appear choppy when the computer is running in battery mode if the battery settings for the processor speed are optimized for long battery life. The 98080136 TechNote addresses how to eliminate this issue if needed.
