Issue
Installation of Toshiba Style Bay Bridge Media Adapter in the Satellite 5200/5205 Series.
Procedure

To install the Toshiba Style Bay Bridge Media Adapter complete the following steps:

  1. With unit turned off, remove the Toshiba Style Bay Weight Saver Assembly.
  2. Insert the Toshiba Style Bay Bridge Media Adapter into the unit's Toshiba Style Bay.
  3. Boot into Windows normally. Windows will detect and install the drivers without asking for user input.
    The following devices will be added in Device Manager:
    Disk drives\JAE CF/MS/SM R/W CF USB Device
    Disk drives\JAE CF/MS/SM R/W MS USB Device
    Disk drives\JAE CF/MS/SM R/W SM USB Device
    Storage volumes\Generic volume
    Storage volumes\Generic volume
    Storage volumes\Generic volume

    The Toshiba Style Bay Bridge Media Adapter can also be inserted and removed from the Toshiba Style Bay while the computer is turned on and in Windows.

    If no other devices are attached to the computer, the following drive letters will be assigned:
    E:\ = Compact Flash - Insert label side up.
    F:\ = Sony Memory Stick -
    G:\ = Smart Media - Insert gold contact side up.

    Removal:
    To remove the Toshiba Style Bay Bridge Media Adapter complete the following steps:
  1. Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the Windows XP System Tray.
  2. Click on "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drives(E:,F:,G:)
  3. Once Windows XP says that it is safe to remove the device, remove it.

Caution: Make sure data is not being accessed on any of the memory devices or data loss may occur when you remove them from their sockets.
