No Sound from the TOSHIBA 3D or Mini 3D Sound Bar

Issue

There is no sound coming from the 3D or Mini 3D Sound Bar or the subwoofer (Mini 3D sound bar only):

  • After connecting the Sound Bar to a device (TV, Cable Box, Media Player, Laptop, etc...) and powering the Sound Bar and the connected device on.
  • After connecting the Sound Bar to a TOSHIBA TV using the optical connection and powering the Sound Bar and the connected device on.

Procedure

No Sound When Connected to Any Devices

Perform the following to help with no sound from the 3D or Mini 3D Sound Bar :

  • Press the Volume +/- buttons of the remote or the Sound Bar.
  • Make sure that you have selected the correct audio source (input). Press the Input button on the remote or the Sound Bar at one second intervals until your audio source is selected.
  • Press the Mute button on the remote control to make sure that the sound is not muted.
  • Make sure that the source (input) you have selected is sending audio. If you are connected to your TV, make sure that your TV is configured to output audio (see the TV’s menu settings).
  • Make sure that there are no loose audio connections.

Perform the following to help with no sound from the Sound Bar Subwoofer (Mini 3D sound bar only):

  • Make sure that the subwoofer is connected properly.

No Sound When Connected to a TOSHIBA TV Using the Optical Connection

When a Toshiba television is connected to the SBX1250 or Mini 3D sound bar via optical cable, a no sound condition may occurr.  This can be resolved by switching the audio output setting in the TV settings from "Auto" to "PCM".

Refer to the User's Guide for the specific TV model the Sound Bar is connected to located at support.toshiba.com for complete information and instruction on changing the audio output setting.
