After installing the software and connecting to the Canvio Personal Cloud, TOSHIBA recommends updating the software immediately and before using the Canvio Personal Cloud, as mentioned on the cover of the Quick Start Guide documentation included in the package.

The flashing Blue indicator to the Right of "Updates" on Canvio Home will inform you if any updates are available for download and installation. After initial Canvio Personal Cloud software installation, the Canvio Home "Updates" indicator flashes Blue.

To update the Canvio Personal Cloud software, perform the following steps:

IMPORTANT: You must connected to a working internet connection to perform the software update.

1. With Canvio Personal Cloud open, click on "Updates".
2. The program will download and install the new updater.
   
3. After the software updater opens, read the information and select "Yes" to continue.
   
4. The updater will search for and download any available updates. After downloading, the updater will automatically begin installation.
   
5. When prompted to make changes to the computer, select "Yes" to continue.
   
6. The installer will update the Canvio Personal Cloud software. This may take up to one hour to perform.
   
7. When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to log back into the Canvio Personal Cloud.
   
8. Updating of your Canvio Personal Cloud software is complete. The Canvio Home "Updates" indicator no longer flashes Blue until new updates are available.

NOTE: If you check for updates and none are found, a message will be displayed indicating that the device has the most recent software installed.
