- The WiFi Connection turns off after 10 minutes of no activity, and also it turns off during FTP downloads.
- Procedure
The WiFi driver has a power saving mode. When enabled, the 802.11b adapter will turn off after about 10 minutes of no activity. When in this mode, TMU icon will appear at the top of the screen. Tapping the TMU icon will result in a pop up which will enable turning ON or OFF the WiFi. If the WiFi powers OFF, tapping the icon will provide a way to turn back on the WiFi adapter.
Downloading large files over wireless is not monitored by the TMU utility and a download that takes more than 10 minutes will fail if in power saving mode. However, streaming audio or video is monitored by the TMU utility and will keep the wireless connection ON. There is a warning in an errata sheet in the box with the units.
The check box to enable/disable Power Saving Mode is found in the Advanced area of the Wireless LAN Utility.- Export Control and EULA
