Microphone Not Detected When Plugged Into The input/output Combo Port
- Issue
External microphone does not work when plugging into input/output combination port.
- Resolution
Microphones may not properly auto-detect when plugged into the audio combination port. The RealTek HD Audio Manager can be configured to allow a user to select the appropiate device when plugged into the audio jack.
1. Launch Realtek HD Audio Manager.
2. Select the Connect Settings folder in the upper right hand corner as shown in the screenshot below. The folder is located in the red box.
3. Put a check mark next to "Enable auto popup dialog, when device has been plugged in.
4. Plug in external microphone and select Mic In from the list of of connected devices.
- Procedure
The combination audio port will support standalone microphones, standalone headphones, or combination headphones with microphone.
