- Information
The following are common causes of recording issues.
- Make sure the safety tab is in place on the VHS tape.
- The safety tab is located on the left of the tape if you are looking at the label side. With the tab in place, the tape can be recorded over, erasing anything that might be currently on the tape. Without the tab, the tape cannot be used to record.
- If the tab is no longer present, a piece of adhesive tape can be used to cover the hole.
- If after making sure the safety tab is in place or a piece of tape is in its place and, you still cannot record on the tape, there may be a problem with the tape itself.
- Try a different tape, if after trying multiple tapes and recording is still not possible, the unit may need to be repaired.
- Please call 1-800-631-3811 to find the nearest Toshiba authorized service station in your area for service. Please be advised that your unit is no longer under the manufacturer warranty and there will be a fee to have it repaired.
