- Make sure the connections going to the VCR and then to your TV are secure and that they are in the proper connection jacks.
- Make sure that the audio output is set to MTS, or another setting depending on the VCR, rather than SAP.
- It is possible that the tape you are viewing is unable to be read correctly and is dropping the audio. See if audio is available on another tape.
- The VCR itself may be dirty, please clean the heads of the VCR using a commercial VHS cleaning cassette.
