Hooking up your VCR

Information

 

1. If you are connecting to an antenna or cable (without a box) connection:

Attach the coaxial connection, the cord with a silver end, and a small point sticking out of it, from your antenna or the cable source to the RF or ANTENNA IN on the back of our VCR.

b)    Attach another coaxial connection to the RF or ANTENNA OUT on the back of our VCR to the RF or ANTENNA IN on your TV.

c)    Set the channel on your TV to 3 or 4, depending on what the setting on the VCR is. Then press the VCR/TV or VCR button on your remote to set the VCR to “VCR” mode, which will enable you to see the signal coming from it.

d)    Switch the VCR mode back to “TV” in order to see your regular TV channels.

2.    If you are connecting to a cable or satellite box:

·         If you want to connect your cable or satellite box with a coaxial connection, the cord with a silver end, and a small point sticking out of it.

a)    Attach the coaxial connection from your cable source to the RF or ANTENNA IN on the back of our VCR.

b)    Attach another coaxial cable connection to the RF or ANTENNA OUT on the back of our VCR to the RF or ANTENNA IN on your cable or satellite box.

c)    Attach another coaxial cable connection to the RF or ANTENNA OUT on the back of your cable or satellite box to the RF or ANTENNA IN on your TV.

d)    Set the channel on your cable or satellite to 3 or 4, depending on what the setting on the VCR is. Then press the VCR/TV or VCR button on your remote to set the VCR to “VCR” mode, which will enable you to see the signal coming from it.

e)    Switch the VCR mode back to “TV” in order to see your regular cable or satellite channels.

         If you want to connect your cable or satellite box through a composite connection, the 3 (yellow, white, and red) cords.

a)    Attach a yellow composite cable to the VIDEO OUT of the cable or satellite box and the other end to the VIDEO IN of the VCR.

b)    Depending on your VCR, there may only be one AUDIO IN jack, if that is the cause attach a white composite cable to the white AUDIO OUT jack of the cable or satellite box to the audio input jack on the VCR. Your VCR may have both white and red AUDIO IN jacks in which case you will use both the red and white connections from your cable or satellite box to your VCR.

c)    Once the connections have been made, you will switch your VCR’s input mode to the corresponding input you connected your cable or satellite box to, in order to view the signal from your box.
