The following are common causes of issues regarding recording.
- Check the connections from your cable box to the VCR.
- If the cable box is connected via coaxial cable, make sure the VCR is set on the channel required by the cable box to show the signal, usually channel 3 or 4.
- If the cable box is connected via composite cables, please make sure the VCR is set the proper input channel, usually Line 1.
- If you are still unable to record, please try a different tape.
- If after trying the previous troubleshooting and you are still unable to record, the program that is being shown on your cable box may be blocked from being recorded. Contact your cable company for more information about the program.
