With the TV’s power off, make sure that the optical cable is securely inserted in both your TV and audio receiver.

After completing the previous step, turn your TV on using the power button.

Once the TV is fully powered on, press the MENU button, on the remote control.

Once in the menu, use the left or right arrow to open the audio menu which will look like the following

Next we will use the UP or DOWN arrows to highlight Audio Setup, as illustrated in the previous picture and press “ENTER”. Once again, using the UP or DOWN arrows, we will need to select Optical Output Format and then use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to select Dolby Digital or PCM, depending on your receiver, as illustrated in the below diagram:    

( NOTE: Your MENU MAY NOT BE IDENTICAL TO WHAT IS SHOWN. THIS IS AM EXAMPLE MENU and will be similar to most menus)

After completing this we will use the DOWN arrow key to highlight DONE. If when you arrow down it highlights Reset simply press the RIGHT arrow key and highlight DONE. After DONE is highlighted please press the “Enter” button to save your settings.
